Peru ended their 2018 World Cup campaign on a high after they defeated Australia 2-0 in their final Group C clash on Tuesday.Australia enjoyed a lot of the ball in the early stages as they went in 3mbet search of an early goal to settle any nerves. However, The South Americans took the lead after 18 minutes as Paolo Guerrero sent in a cross into Andrea Carrillo who sent a powerful volley past Matt Ryan. The Socceroos went close to finding an equaliser 10 minutes later when Tom Rogic shrugged off a couple challenges before seeing his strike turned away by goalkeeper Pedro Gallese. The chances continued to fall for Australia, with Rogic and Kruse combining to play in Matthew Leckie, who somehow missed from six-yards out after 34 minutes.Neither side could find another opening in 3mbet the final 10 minutes as Peru went into the break with a slight advantage.Five minutes into the second stanza, Peru did manage to double their lead as Guerrero got his first of the tournament with a volley from close range.Despite being two goals down, Australia continued to solider on and dominated possession as they went search of a goal. The Socceroos managed to 3mbet carve out a couple half chances after 70 minutes but the likes of Tim Cahill and Leckie were let down by service in the final third. In the end, 2-0 was how the score remained as both Australia and Peru were eliminated from the tournament.
